Flux Power – Leading the adoption of clean, safe, and innovative lithium technology platforms

Flux Power designs, manufactures, and sells lithium-ion battery packs for use in material handling equipment (MHE) or airport ground support equipment (GSE) as a replacement for inefficient and environmentally undesirable lead-acid batteries.

As a first-mover in the multi-billion-dollar North American market, Flux Power is leading the industry’s migration to lithium-ion technology. The company moved into a new 60,000 square foot facility in June 2019 to accommodate growing demand for its lithium-ion battery packs and a rapidly growing employee base of 90+ team members.

As background, it’s important to note that, for decades, companies powered their fleets of material handling equipment primarily with lead-acid batteries.  This is a reliable and low-cost technology, but it come with several significant downsides.  End users who purchase lithium-ion battery packs for MHE seek unique benefits, including no required maintenance, higher energy efficiency, longer life and lower total cost of ownership.

With the development of the L-Series product designed for the growing 3-wheel forklift market, Flux Power now has a full line-up of lithium-ion battery solutions for: Class 1 Counterbalance Forklifts; 3-Wheel Forklifts; Narrow Aisle ForkliftsWalkie Stackers; End Riders & Center RidersWalkie Pallet Jacks; and Airport GSE.

“Our batteries are sold primarily through material handling equipment dealers who represent single or multi-line forklift OEM brands such as Toyota, Crown, UniCarriers, and Clark. In addition to collaborating with the OEMs who will test our batteries for use in their lift equipment, we also design all of our products to meet or exceed UL requirements.

The majority of our products are UL Listed, or are currently going through the process of testing for a UL Listing. This is one of the key differentiators for our products compared to our competitors.

We have found that Fortune 500-type customers with large fleets place a significant emphasis on the safety of their operators and equipment, and the UL Listing is a way to obtain independent 3rd party validation of the safety of our lithium-ion battery packs,” said Ron Dutt, CEO.
